I want you to know
     I feel an endless fear.
Does it show in my eyes
     whenever you are near?
It slithers quickly in
     when I'm all alone.
Feeding me vicious lies -
     too terrible to be known.
It wants me to think you'll leave me,
     standing all alone.
Without you by my side...
I can't make it on my own.
It tells me you don't love me,
which I know cannot be true.
It tells me that I'm nothing,
but aren't I special to you?
That stupid fear! It haunts me...
     drifting in, then out.
Why can't I let it go,
     disappearing with my doubt?
I know I can't ignore it.
     My fear is always near.
It shines quietly in my eyes
when I see them in the mirror.
